This is a silicone prosthetics character which I designed as part of my final year in college. He is a character from Ben Jonson's play Volpone. In the play each character has an animal counter-part. For the character of Voltore, a greedy lawyer, his animal counter-part is a vulture. In the design of this character I wanted to incorporate the distinct features of the vulture into the human structure. This project was the first time I created any type of silicone prosthetics, and I found it to be a very interesting and technical process. There are 2 silicone prosthetic pieces: a forehead and face/neck piece, the beak is made of PU resin and I also made latex ear lobes and a latex baldcap. The Moulds were made of silicone with a plaster jacket.
